Konrad Büssow - Personal Web Page
I am biochemist who studies proteins of mammalian, mainly human origin. I have been developing technologies for high-throughput, parallel characterization and screening of proteins. Also I have established new systems for producing protein complexes and glycosylated proteins in recombinant form, thereby enabling the analysis of their three-dimensional structure. My current research focuses on the structural analysis of lysosomal membrane proteins.
Current work
I am currently project group leader at the Helmholtz Centre for Infection Research in Braunschweig, Germany. In my project, we focus on the development of new systems for the production of glycosylated proteins by X-ray crystallography. We have applied our technology to study the family of lysosome-associated membrane proteins (LAMPs). More information is available on the project web site.
